Great Plains Environmental has performed numerous cathodic
protection tests on underground storage tanks, piping,
and above ground storage tank bottoms.
Cathodic protection testing is periodically required
to test the integrity of the tank systems. The test determines
if the installed cathodic protection system is functioning
properly. Cathodic Protection systems prevent corrosion,
which leads to leaking tank and piping systems.
According to EPA regulations, all cathodic protection
systems must be tested within 6 months of installation
and at least every three years thereafter. Owners must
also maintain records of testing procedures and results
to be in compliance.
